THE DATING LAME

In my quest to find more insight into the male psyche, I stumbled on another blog that I really respect for its (sometimes brutal) honesty and tough love: What Men Think.

The author, who describes himself as a mid-twenties financial advisor, writes the blog “to women, for the benefit of men.” In other words, read it and weep ladies: This is what he’s really thinking when he texts you at 2 am, goes clubbing or shows signs of losing interest.

My favorite post so far is probably: “He Called Me at ? O’Clock.” We females are always trying to decipher the secret language behind phone calls and texts—heck, I’ve had entire conversations about a single text.

Well, gals, according to WMT, it’s not that complicated. If he calls right after a date, he’s interested. If it’s late and he’s texting, he wants sex. If he waits a few weeks, he’s “just not that into you,” to borrow a dating cliche. Sorry.

As hard as it is to read sometimes, WMT’s no-BS policy is refreshing. Like having a drink thrown in your face…but you kind of deserved it.
